WOMEX Label Award Winner in 2016

It is a pleasure for the EURORADIO World Music Workshop to share again with the WOMEXicans the list of the most successful labels in the World Music Charts Europe. The underlying period is September 2015 until August 2016.

Already an institution in its 9th year, the annual WOMEX Label Award is hotly contested and warmly anticipated by all who value the contributions of independent record labels.

The WOMEX 16 Label Award goes to:

Glitterbeat

They've done it again! Glitterbeat, who received the WOMEX 14 and WOMEX 15 Label Award, will join us again in Santiago de Compostela to receive the award for the third time! World Music Charts Europe has tracked the monthly charts of 47 radio broadcasters from 25 countries, and Glitterbeat is the label that has the most popular releases in this network this year – their success coming off the back of albums by Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni Ba, Samba Touré and Fofoulah.

A full list of the Top 20 record labels, as well as their most successful albums over the past year is available here
